Shoe should know, that when CJ has a freebie coming, he will starve himself for days so he better start squirling the cash away. So without further ado, here we go. Picks for NFL Week#14:
INDY(-3)@ TEN- Wow, NFL Network didn't see this one coming! Peyton "Pick Six" Manning vs. "The Invisible" Chris Johnson. The Colts have been saddled with injuries all year and it has definitely shown in their play. The Titans meanwhile, are more concerned about babysitting QB Vince Young than retaining coach Jeff Fisher, bad move. Titans in a December spiral and Manning and the Colts with their back against the wall, not that hard.
INDY 27 TEN 17
GB(-6.5)@ DET- The Lions have scared opponents all year despite their lousy record. The problem is Aaron Rodgers has been scarier, especially if you have to face him in the first round of your fantasy playoffs, damn! Well enough about my problems. The Pack can ill afford to let down here as the Bears continue to lead the way in the NFC North. It won't help the Lions that QB Drew Stanton will be pressed into action. The Lions may be frisky for a while but, Air Rodgers strikes early and often.GB 38 DET 13
OAK @ JAX(-4)- A couple of the more curious teams in the league this year. The "Cable Man" has alternated between rumored to fired and possible Coach of the Year candidate. Meanwhile the Jaguars have the inside track on the AFC South title, no that is not a misprint. After an emotionally charged upset of San Diego and the long trek across country, the Raiders may find themselves on empty. JAX 20 OAK 13
CIN @ PIT(-9)- The Bengals, Carson Palmer and Marvin Lewis all have one thing in common, they stink. Their defense has been, well, stinky. Terrell Owens is flapping his gums and criticizing the play calling (can't believe it has taken him this long). News flash for T.O. The Bengals won't win anything giving up 27 points a game no matter how many times they throw you the ball. As for Pitt, Big Ben is hurting from head to toe, literally, and the Steelers offense has struggled the last two weeks. Helloooooo Bengals! PIT 23 CIN 10
ATL(-7.5) @ CAR- It is my belief that the real Super Bowl contenders roll when the calender turns to December. I consider the Falcons to be in that grouping. With Carolina head coach John Fox on his way out the door, the Panthers will crawl to the finish line this year. No basis for upset expectations here, Falcons eke out a cover. ATL 21 CAR 10
CLE @ BUF(-1)- News flash for Jake Delhomme , it will be tough to throw the ball in snow ridden Buffalo this weekend, hand the damn ball to Hillis and when you do have to throw try throwing to the guys on your team, works much better that way. Buffalo is being overcome with injuries. If the Browns can manage their way across I 90, they should emerge from the snow with a "W", but it wont be pretty.CLE 16 BUF 13
TB(-2) @ WAS- Its Christmas time and Donovan McNabb has visions of DeSean Jackson dancing in his head. Wake up Donovan, that is a weapon of years gone by. Unfortunately the Skins will have to take the field with what they have and that isn't much offensively. For the Bucs, they keep surprising people. This week Josh Freeman pulls out another one. TB 20 WAS 16
NYG(-2.5)@ MIN- Farve is playing, he is not playing, quite frankly I am sick of it and really could care less. As for Eli manning and the Giants, we never quite know what we are going to get. Everyone seems to think the Giants are putting it back together just in time for the stretch run, just the perfect time for Mr. Hyde to rare its ugly head. MIN 24 NYG 20
STL @ NO(-9)- Bradford and the Rams have definitely surprised folks with their play. The Saints have won five straight since their loss to the Browns, but have not looked overpowering in doing so. That being said this is the third in a row on the road for St. Louis and the Saints eventually pull away from the tiring Rams. NO 31 STL 17
SEA @ SF(-5.5)- Who the hell knows! The other Smith at QB for the Niners and another road game for the Seahawks, ugh. I'll take the insurance.
SF 16 SEA 13
KC @ SD(-7)- Not all the way sold on the Chiefs yet. They have played one team with an above .500 record and that was way back in October against the Texans, the result a loss. The Chargers will be in a foul mood after last weeks disaster against the Raiders. Couple that with a possible Brodie Croyle siting as Matt Cassell recovers from an appendectomy earlier this week and it could be a long day for the Chiefs. SD 27 KC 14
MIA @ NYJ(-5.5)- The Dolphins picked a bad week to travel to the Jets. New York will be focused after that Hoodie lashing on Monday Night and the 'Phins flat out look like crap right now. NYJ 24 MIA 10
DEN(-3.5) @ ARZ- Dear God. I don't know what will be worse, SF/SEA or this train wreck of a game. One coach was fired, one is going to get fired. I'll take Kyle Orton over whoever will be throwing ducks this week for the Cardinals. DEN 28 ARZ 13
NE(-3) @ CHI- CJ has a rule. Whenever choosing between Jay Cutler and "The Hoodie", CJ picks Hoodie. NE 24 CHI 17
PHI(-3.5) @ DAL- The Jason Garrett led Cowboys look much better. The Pokes will played inspired and give Philly a run for the money but the loss of Dez Bryant will hurt. Conversely, the Eagle wideouts will be too much to handle for the Dallas secondary. PHI 28 DAL 20
BAL(-4) @ HOU- Very tough call here. The Raven offense has been under performing. Houston has played well in spots and really needs a win to have any chance in the AFC South. This one should be entertaining and I think the books have this right on the money. We'll take the points. BAL 23 HOU 20
