Shoe's Corner

NFL WEEK #11 2010

Another tough week behind us with success! 9-5 SU & 8-6 ATS in Week #10. MYB official NFL plays go 2-1 with a tough loss @ Cleveland (Eric Wright- you stink!). We were banking on 3-0 but unfortunately the less intelligent "player" on the field forgot that scoring a TD in overtime is also a winning combination!

As I always do a few acknowledgments:
Houston nice job a Jacksonville...Really you'd think that having the best RB in the league would warrant him touching the ball a little more than 15 times, but I guess not, you deserve the loss!
Eric Wright!!!!
Ed Hochuli- Thanks for sticking it to the bettor, as you always do, than handing the win to SF with a BS PI call in overtime giving the home team an easy way out of the debacle you put them in!

WEEK #11 NFL PICKS:

CHIC@MIA-1 - Looks like a QB issue in this game, right? But the question is: Which teams QB has "the issue"? Shoe say Chicago! Cutler has to be the most erratic QB in the NFL. While under Martz's wing, he hasn't learned to fly. Combine that with one of the worst head coaches in the NFL, Chicago goes on the road to meet the young guns in Miami. MIA20-CHIC13

BUFF@CINCY-6 - Buff got a W, but can they get 2W's? In this game Shoe looks at the QB's and which team has the advantage? Clearly Buffalo, as Palmer is over the hill and will limp off to television stardom in the near future...but is it enough, on the road, and against a home team who will set up the run and find a way to get the ball into the hands of "TOCHO". BUFF31-CINCY30

DET@DALL-7 - BIG D-BIG WIN n NYG & JG new BFF n * Town; sorry thought I was texting; Detroit has it's issues, but has prepared to play diligently every week, regardless of their W/L record. Dallas the exact opposite and their record proves it. Could this be a trap game for Team Dallas? Nope! It's a trap game for the sucker Dallas fan! DET28-DAL27

BALT-10.5@CAR - Carolina is atrocious, has many injury issues, and is fielding a team who has little talent. Baltimore looks past this game and will attempt early and often a ball control field position contest, keeping Carolina in the game up until the end. Let's hope there is no pick six, giving Balt the back door cover. BALT20-CAR14

CLEVE@JAX-1 - Everyone is starting to get on the Brown's bandwagon, Hillis is a stud, but that's about all they got except for a continued team effort on D. Which leads me the Browns D....they have been exposed, and Jacksonville will exploit Eric Wright all day long. JAX38-CLEVE21

OAK@PITT-7.5 - Oakland coming off a bye, travels to a pissed off and embarrassed Pitt team who had their asses handed to them in prime time Sunday Night. Oakland has a revived run game, which is the key to their success this year. Pitt knows that and will stack it up in the box all day long. The question is, which Pitt O will show up? PITT23-OAK9

WASH@TENN-7 - At first I thought Snyder and Shanahan were morons (D McNabb $78M-5yrs?), but now we know they can dump the bum for $3.78M at any time- good move! The mighty Titans come off a bye week, and are eager to dominate, healthy and prepared. Washington? Not so much...LOL! TENN37-WASH17

ARIZ@KC-7.5 - KC in a tail spin, Arizona in a race with Seattle and WAIT STOP THE PRESSES...SFrancisco? Where the hell did they come from? Arizona will play admirably this week, but the swirling Chiefs will right the ship. KC27-ARIZ17

GBAY-3@MINN - The Packers at the Vikings....Are the Vikings done yet? No don't think so, too much pride to go down not slinging. Really sick and tired of the "Favre" "Childress" "Team" thing going on? Get sicker, because against all odds here, Favre pulls off another miracle! MINN27-GBAY23

HOUS@NYJ-7 - This is what's wrong with the NFL, Houston goes to Jax and it's a shoot out air fare, Houston goes to NYJ, and will keep it on the ground- ugh! NYJ17-HOUS14

ATL-3.5@STL - Atlanta the best team in the NFL? Shoe say not so much, they are good, but not the best, even though they tout the best record. STL is good at home, Sam Bradford is pretty damn good for what he has to work with... STL24-ATL21

TBAY@SF-3 - TBAY has the best road record in the NFL, but their RUN D is not good. My man Josh Freeman is an Eliminator Pool Killer! Can he do it again this week to the Eliminator pickers who have little to choose from but the Niners? Not likely, but he will keep it interesting. My man Coach Singletary and My man "Mr. Heisman" Troy "the boy" Smith will handle their new found push toward the playoffs commendably. SF24-TBAY17

SEAT@NO-12 - SEATTLE is one whacked out team to try to figure out. Coach Carol, what's up? NO should dominate this game, but Seattle getting alot of points here. Shoe say Seattle MIGHT get a sloppy back door cover. NO33-Seat17

INDY@NE-3.5 - This used to be such an elite hyped up game, but with the parity in the NFL, it's just another game with some oh well could be a good game interest...Indy is sooooo banged up, but continues to compete, NE is definitely the better team here, but their D is young and inconsistent. Can Manning make them look bad? Yes, but his receivers can't. NE31-INDY23

NYG@PHILLY-3.5 - Philly Vick and Jackson McCoy dueling Eli Bradshaw and Nick's Giants! This should be a great game, I don;t think the public is going to give the Giants much of a chance here, but the Shoe say it's close one. Philly speeds past the lumber some but stronger Giant. Philly30-NYG27

DEN@SD-10 - Well Shoe say what? Shoe say he has been perfect predicting this game since two weeks ago! Shoe guaranteed a SD win, then followed it up with a Denver win!! Look ma no hands!! SD is back in the playoff hunt! Thank God for ratings and market share! LOL!! No the NFL isn't "fixed"! Only when it needs to be almighty Dollar! SD48-DEN28

MYB'S NFL PICKS FOR WEEK #10

-CHI +1.5 Win
-CLE +3.5 Loss
-DEN +1 Win

MYB NCAA FB UPDATE

Although this weeks system results were not as impressive as last weeks, we did go 14-12-1. That includes the weekday games and Saturday games. Not outstanding but almost 54% none the less. The good news is that we have been tracking another variable that we could input and if that would have been implemented this week, we would have gone 14-3-1!!! Remember this is a work in progress. We will go ahead next week and include the extra variable. Sunday NFL Picks will be posted shortly.

Shoe's Corner

NFL WEEK #10 2010

Wow what a week if you were in a SU Pool! Shoe went 12-1 SU & 7-6 ATS. Very little observations from Week #9 that Shoe hasn't already beat to death! Like run the freakin ball Minnesota!! AP? Ever heard of him? Another Eliminator "heart attack" for the Shoe!
And on a positive note, looks like "story lines" are falling in place, just the way the NFL likes it! One thing we must all remember, especially in gambling: 1) Entertainment 2) Follow the money 3) Follow the money 4) Follow the MONEY!!! Which leads Shoe into his picks starting with FOLLOW THE MONEY.....

PICKS (Shoe posted ATL-1.5 on Thursday Night with a win!)

NYJ-3.5@CLEVE - Let me ask you one simple question: Where has the majority of Cleveland's sports consumer money been spent on its sport's teams over the past 5-6 years? Ahhh for some of you the light bulb just went on!! For those of you who need a little further nudge...The NFL has lost money in the Cleveland market, thanks to Le Prick and the Cavs...now that Le Prick is gone, the Browns have a two game winning streak against two of the NFL's elite teams, Hillis and McCoy jerseys are flying off the shelves, DO YOU ACTUALLY THINK THAT THE NFL IS GOING TO LET THE BROWNS LOSE THIS WEEKEND?!?!?! If you do, Shoe say stay asleep little chitlin: Eyes Wide Shut- CLEVE17NYJ14

CINCY@INDY-7.5 - The Bungholes are underachievers this year, and Shoe attributes this to an aging and over rated, Carson Palmer. Cincy has offensive weapons, but what does that matter if the ball doesn't find them? Indy is all banged up, but because of the exact opposite issue in Cincy (Manning), they find a way to win and or compete commendably. INDY24-CINCY20

HOUS@JAX-1.5 - Two teams both can put up points, both have serious defensive issues; so Shoe ask which team will have the best offensive output this week? Shoe say HOUS38-JAX33

TENN-1@MIA - Cum Bye Ya My Lord, Cum Bye Ya, Cum "Bye Bye, Bye Bye Bye Bye" (Violent Femmes) MYWHAMMIE Miami; Crying, are you Crying? There's no crying in football!!! Shoe was actually considering the Fins as a win this week, but now that they have downgraded themselves from Dolpins to Minnows, the Titans roll it up! TENN27-MIA13

MINN-1.5@CHIC - Is the public really that gullible? The Vikes favored at Soldier Field? Da Bears get no respect? I know O'dickhead "supposedly" comes from Chi-Town, but that doesn't mean there gonna fold with a loss of 64+ seats!! However, this game comes down to who will be the worst coach? Both stink, so Shoe goes with home field advantage here. CHIC28-MINN24

DET@BUFF-1.5 - battle for the worst record in the NFL, exciting? No not really, but Shoe says both teams are improving, have some fight in them, and this game should make for a shoot out. If the Bills can contain Best, they get their first W! BUFF38-DET24

CAR@TBAY-6.5 - The Panthers are decimated on the offensive front with injuries, but their D likes to play ball. TBAY TBAY TBAY? Are you going to give Shoe his 4th straight week of "heart attack" football? TBAY27CAR14

KC-1@DEN - The Donkeys have pretty much played like a bunch of jackasses the past 4 time they have taken the field! They come off a bye week and better have worked out their "kinks". Divisional rivalry, home team, KC reeling- Kick the Mule in the ass and keep on moving... DEN23-KC20

STL@SF-6 - Overachiever pitted against underachiever in another divisional game! Man this week is tough! Shoe treads lightly here where STL coming off a bye, and Jackson healthy, Niners make a QB change and stick with it? There was a reason Troy Smith wasn't a #1 in Baltimore, but Shoe bucks like a Ram and digs for gold! SF17-TL10

SEAT@ARIZ-3 - Another Divisional game! Ugh! When you throw crap up against crap, what do you get? Crap!! Flip a coin here, but go with the home team again?!??! Yep! ARIZ21SEAT17

DALL@NYG-13.5 - Finally Phillips has been fired! Why doesn't the NFL listen to the Shoe? My goodness if only they fired that jackal 4 weeks ago, D might have saved face for the season!! Dallas shows up with some pride making this contest close in the first half, but just can't break the spell. NYG35-DALL21

NENG@PITT-4.5 - Very interesting story line here that has flown under the radar: Cleve beat NO, NO beat Pitt...Cleve beat NEng, NEng beat Pitt?? Cleve beat the NYJ, NYJ beat Pitt?? Could it be, Could the Shoe be true?!?! Yep NENG29-PITT27

PHLLY-3@WASH - Controversy surrounds this game to a ridiculous level: Dog Killing, race baiting, inconsistent quarter backs, injured running backs, traded scorned players, players sitting should be playing, drug dealers run in the family, owners just can't stick with something- it's a damn football game, not a soap opera!! PHLLY24-WASH23

-UCONN +6.5

MYB UPDATE

We have been busy making changes to our NCAA Football model the last few weeks. As you know if you follow, we went south the last several weeks which precipitated a change. The model showed promise last week going 17-8. I will start posting these games but we DO NOT recommend you play them at this point. These will be for tracking purposes only right now. If you do want to play these the next few weeks do so at your own risk. Hopefully, come bowl time, we will have a good enough sampling to consider putting some money on the line. We continue to post a solid 58% in NFL play, so definitely feel free to continue to play these.

Shoe's Corner

UPDATED 7am Sunday 11-7
Shoe's Corner made adjustments based on % changes and conflicts, including late injury reports...Good Luck!
Week #9 2010

Last week went the way we figured- "split" unfortunately below .500 for the first time this year., going 8-5SU & 6-7ATS. Shoe has enjoyed 7 straight weeks above .500, with a 59% ATS picking every game! Shoe is not happy dropping below the 60% mark, and the last three weeks have done it! Blame it on MLB!! Always tough weeks to handicap, whereas "the public" gets a bone, two or three thrown their way!

Only one question Shoe wants answered from the past three weeks: To all the Offensive Coordinators out there- Why in God's name would you throw the football against a team that can not stop the run, and especially after you have proven to run all over that said team?!? WTF is wrong with you?!?! Of course Shoe is specifically talking to any team that has played Buffalo!! Idiots!

Picks for Week #9

TBAY@ATL-8.5 - TBAY is playing good football, especially on the road. They travel to Atlanta who is coming off a bye. Atlanta has a solid run game when they utilize it!! Let's hope an Offensive Co decides to listen to the Shoe! ATL27-TBAY17

CHIC-2.5@BUFF - Buffalo has nearly given Shoe a couple of heart attacks over the past couple of weeks, where Shoe had chosen their opponent in his eliminator picks! While Buffalo had really turned it around on offense with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Steve Johnson, their Defense really stinks. Chicago is coming of a bye, and will most definitely be healthier and more prepared than the home team in this game. CHIC34-BUFF24

NENG-5@CLEVE - This is an interesting game to handicap: Cleveland is coming off a bye, and who knows what tricks they will pull out including the "pull my finger trick". NE has some issues that have been exploited, and Cleveland will be hoping to capitalize on them. Shoe stretches here. CLEVE24-NE23

NYJ-4@DET - The Jets got blanked last week against an NFC North team only to travel to another NFC North Team. This game should be the game of the week, but unfortunately the Lions just don't get that type of draw. NYJ23-DET17

ARIZ@MINN-8.5 - 8.5? 8.5? Who the hell do they think the Cards are playing? Pitt at home? Noooo! Crazy just crazy here, but in the National Favre Football League, anything is possible. Harvin is questionable, but in this game I hope "the coach" gets his way and Adrian Peterson gets the ball 50 times! That's right Offensive Co. RUN THE FRIGGIN BALL!! MINN28-ARIZ21

NO-7.5@CAR - The Carolina offense has some serious issues, but their D is pretty damn good keeping them in games. NO is coming off a big win at home, but has been the "Cybil" team in the NFL this year- definitely not fitting as the Super Bowl Champs. NO21-CAR17

MIA@BALT-5.5 - The Fins are for real, especially on the road. They really got my tit in a ringer last week, or should I say Carson Palmer you stink?!? This week WILL be the Fins first road loss. BALT20-MIA16

SD-1.5@HOUS - Well now, could this be the biggest sucker bet of the week? Shoe told you he would get into the "Network Interference" a couple weeks ago, so here it is. SD has a hard time selling out so far this year at home, they are going into a bye week and the following week host the Donkeys at home on a Monday Night. Now the non conspiratorial would say Houston is a gift this week, getting points at home against a not very good team thus far this year, however the Shoe will tell you ESPN will make sure SD wins this week, and will draw a bigger viewing audience two weeks from this day!! That's right, SHOE SAYS FIX!!! SD45-HOUS33

NYG-7@SEAT - The Hawks are showing some substance this year with Coach Carrol at the helm. They are an odd bunch of birds put together on the field as a team- old and young, good and not so good. Shoe thinks Coach Carrol once in full control of this team and its' management, will build a dynasty. SEAT at home is tough, and will out coach NYG coaching staff in this game, but will it be enough? NYG31-SEAT20

KC@OAK-2.5 - Oakland has strangely put together a decent record and thus far year to date. Somehow they've put up some serious points over the past few weeks, and are running with some serious confidence. KC is good but Cassel is not. The difference in this brutal hitting game, Oakland's run game. OAK17-KC13

INDY@PHLLY-2.5 - Is Vick getting too much love here? Shoe's not sure what to make of this game, but would venture to guess we will see Kolb in this game, and he will put a wrinkle in INDY's Preparation. The Colts are really hurting right now, and Manning as good as he is, doesn't have the talent on the field to support him. INDY27-PHLLY21

DALL@GBAY-9 - Dallas Dallas Dallas, what have you done? Dallas Dallas Dallas, you are so far gone? Dallas Dallas Dallas, fire that Bum. Dallas Dallas Dallas, not him his SON! GBAY24DALL21

PITT-5@CINCY - Palmer stinks, Cincy what a disappointment this year. Pitt laying a lot of points here on the road and a rivalry game to boot. Cincy just might make a game of this early, but the Steelers are just too good, and looking to run it up! PITT17-CINCY13
